Housing and crime in focus as Labor, Libs step up election campaigns

Criminals who escape prison will be publicly named if the WA Liberals win government on March 8.

Party leader Libby Mettam said they would review the Prisoners Review Board within the first 100 days of Government.

“The Cook Labor Government has failed to meet the community expectation that dangerous prisoners be kept behind bars,” Mettam said.

Labor, meanwhile, is focusing on addressing the challenges of homeownership as the escalating cost of housing remains a significant concern for many West Australians.

The party’s housing policies include a renewed focus on the Keystart program, where the state would own 35 per cent of each off-the-plan property, assisting first-time buyers with low deposits.
