Drivers were told to allow an extra 30 minutes for their journey, with closures occurring on the Calder Freeway, near Malmsbury and Harcourt.
Neeson previously starred in the conspiracy thriller Blacklight, filmed in 2020 and Ice Road 2: Road to the Sky which was filmed in Melbourne and regional Victoria earlier this year.
Neeson is best known for his roles in Taken, Schindler’s List, Love Actually and Batman Begins.
The project is expected to create 453 jobs and inject more than $19 million into the state economy
Production will be shooting along the freeway and surrounding roads until 10pm.
